Welcome to Referoo!
Your recruiter/hiring manager has chosen to use Referoo, an online Background Checking platform that automatically contacts you (and any referees you may nominate) by email and SMS to complete a variety of Checks online.
How Referoo Works
Creating you in the platform
Your recruiter will add your full name, email and phone number into their company's Referoo account. They will also set the types of Checks they would like you to provide, such as a Reference Check, a Police Check, a Right to Work Check etc. Once your details are in Referoo, you will automatically receive an email and/or SMS invitation to provide the required details for the Check(s) by filling out an online form.
Completing your Checks
After you follow the link in the email or SMS message, you will be taken to your Candidate Dashboard where you can manage and track your Checks.
For a Reference Check you will be asked to provide your referee's details - each referee's full name, phone number, email address, and some information about your relationship with that referee. Once you submit these details, each referee will also be contacted by email and/or SMS message, and be provided the option to either Accept or Decline the invitation. If they Accept they will be taken to another online Referoo page to answer the reference questionnaire.
Besides a Reference Check you may also be asked to complete other Background Checks. Follow the links from your Candidate Dashboard to be taken to the secure pages to fill in the information required for each Check.
Referees filling out your references
If a referee accepts your reference request, the link that they click will take them to an online form where they can review the contact and relationship information you provided about them. They then continue through and answer the recruiter's reference questionnaire, filling out the reference answers on their online form.
Once they are done, they submit the form (all online) and see a confirmation screen. They can then close out the Referoo page.
Recruiter reviewing completed Check reports
Once the Checks are processed and the results are ready, the completed Check reports will be automatically made available to your recruiter/hiring manager.
Once all of your requested Check reports are complete, your journey with Referoo is over (for this application anyway)! Your recruiter/hiring manager will be in touch with the next steps. We might see you again if you apply for another role with a recruiter/hiring manager that uses Referoo reference checking.
