When you first access your Candidate Dashboard you will be asked to review the details that the recruiter/hiring manager has provided about you. If a Reference Check is also needed you will be asked to provide the contact details for each of your referees.

If you have just accessed your Candidate Dashboard for the first time and are unsure how to fill out this form or manage your referees, please see our guide here:

After entering in your referee's details, they will be saved and the status icon will change colour as your referee progresses through the reference request.

If the Status is Red

Your recruiter has requested for you to provide a certain number of referees. This status will be displayed until you provide the contact details for all of the referees you need for the reference check.

If the Status is Yellow

  1. Your recruiter/hiring manager has chosen not to send automatic emails to your referee(s)

Some recruiters/hiring managers prefer to review referee details before sending an email to them, or they may be planning to give your referee(s) a call instead. As soon as you load up your referee's details, your recruiter receives an email notification and will either:

    1. Call your referee, after the phonecall you will see the status update to green and reflect that this reference is completed

    2. Trigger off an email and/or SMS invite, after which you will see the status update to yellow and reflect that this referee has been contacted

  2. Your referee could not be contacted on the email address provided

This same status may display if we were unable to deliver the invite to the referee's email address.

You will have received an email from Referoo advising that the referee couldn't be automatically contacted and providing the steps to edit their details. Please check your Spam folder if you can't find it in your inbox.

From your Candidate Dashboard you can click into the Referees section then onto the name of a referee to edit their details, and if you edit the referee's email address and/or phone number, a new invite will be re-triggered to the updated contact details.

If your referee stays in this status for more than 1 business day and you're unsure what to do please send a message through the chatbox on any Referoo page and Referoo support will help to investigate.

An email and/or SMS invite has been sent to the contact details you provided for that referee, and the email has not been rejected by that email inbox.

NOTE: if your referee is set to any Status listed below this box you can no longer edit their details. They have already started filling out your reference so their details are locked in.

The referee has completed the first step on the way to filling out your reference: they have signed the consent statement.

The referee has completed the second step on the way to filling out your reference: they have reviewed (possibly edited) and confirmed the contact and relationship information you provided about them.

If the Status is Green

Once the reference check is completed by the referee the icon will turn green. They're all done and your recruiter has received the completed check.

FAQ

My referee hasn't received anything from Referoo, what do I do?

If the referee has contacted you to say they have not received an invite, please click back into your Candidate Dashboard then into the Referees section to review their details and ensure they are correct. Click on the name of a referee to see and edit their details. If you edit the referee's email address and/or phone number, a new invite will be triggered to one or both of the updated contact details.

If the details are all correct, please ask them to check their spam/junk folder as well. They may need to provide you with a different email address if our emails just can't get through, in which case you can edit their details and a new invite will be triggered to the new address.

If the referee has accidentally deleted the invite and can't find it in their Deleted folder please send us a message through the Referoo chatbox and we will send a new invite out to them.

Please reach out to support@referoo.com.au or through the Referoo Chatbox on any Referoo page if you have questions!
