When you first access your Candidate Dashboard, you will be asked to review the details that the recruiter/hiring manager has provided about you, and to provide details for each one of your referees.

After entering in your referee's details, they will be saved and the status icon will change colour as your referee progresses through the reference request.
If the status is red
This could mean:
Your recruiter/hiring manager has disabled auto-invites

Some recruiters/hiring managers prefer to review referee details before sending out invites, or may be planning to give your referee(s) a call instead. As soon as you load up your referee's details, your recruiter receives an email notification and will either:
βCall your referee, after the phonecall you will see the status update to green and reflect that this reference is completed
Trigger off an email and/or SMS invite, after which you will see the status update to yellow and reflect that this referee has been contacted
The email address entered for your referee is incorrect
βIf we are unable to deliver the invite to the referee's email address, and no mobile phone number has been provided OR the recruiter/hiring manager is not using SMS invites, the status will remain as red.
You will also receive this email from us, it may be best to check your spam folders:
We tried to email [referee name and email] for a reference, but the email was not delivered. This normally happens because the referees email address is incorrect.
Please review the referee's email address to ensure it is correct, and use the blue Edit button to make any changes needed.

If your referee reflects this red status for more than 1 business day it might be best to check in with your recruiter/hiring manager to confirm the status of this reference, their details will be in the top left-hand corner of your Candidate Dashboard. You could also send us a message through the chatbot and we'll let you know if we can see any reason why the referee has not been contacted.
If the status is yellow
An email and/or SMS invite has been sent to the referee, and the email has not been rejected by the referee's email inbox. The referee should have received the invite.
If the referee has said they have not received an invite, please review their details to ensure they are correct, and use the Edit button to make changes if needed. If you edit the referee's email address and/or phone number, a new invite will be triggered to one or both of the updated contact details.
If the details are all correct, please ask them to check their spam/junk folder as well. They may need to provide you with a different email address if our emails just can't get through, in which case you can Edit their details and a new invite will be triggered to the new address.
If the referee has accidentally deleted the invite, please reach out to your recruiter/hiring manager to ask them to retrigger it, or send us a message through the Referoo chatbot and we can also do this for you.
Once the reference check is completed by phone or email, the icon will turn green and the reference checking process is complete for that referee.
