Feature Description (Available for Hub Clients):
The new Questionnaire Report Builder gives you greater control over the appearance and content of your reference reports.
With this tool, you can:
Hide specific sections you don’t want included in the final report
Edit field labels to align with your organisation’s preferred terminology
Add or remove extra information to suit your reporting needs
This flexible feature makes it easy to create clear, professional reports tailored to your audience and brand.
Step 1: Enable the Report Builder
To use the Report Builder feature, all activation requests must be directed to your Referoo Account Manager. As this feature is available exclusively for Hub clients, your Account Manager will assist you through the enablement of this feature.
Step 2: Access the Report Builder
Once the Referoo team has enabled the feature for your account, you'll find a new option called "Report Builder" under your Referoo Settings. This is where you can view and manage the feature’s configurations.
Step 3: Customise Your Report Layout
Once the Report Builder is enabled, you can start customising your reports to better suit your needs.
Step 4: Choose and Create a Report Template
Under Report Templates, you can choose the type of report you'd like to create.
Available options include:
Select the option you want to work with, then click Create a New Report Template to get started.
Expand and your preferred Referee or Candidate Report Guide using the options below:

Step 5: Name Your Report
Start by giving your report a name.
☝️HINT: You can use your client’s name or brand name to help you easily identify the report—especially if it needs to differ from your organisation’s default report.
Step 6: Hide Sensitive Information (If Needed)
Using clients example from above samples. if you're creating a report for a specific client, you may need to hide certain details to meet privacy requirements or client preferences.
For example, you can choose to hide:
Recruiter Name
Candidate Name
This helps protect sensitive information and ensures your report is suitable for external sharing.
Step 7: Choose Your Report Styling
You have two options for setting the style of your report:
Apply Default Company Styling
Turn this on to automatically use your company's default styling for all reports under this template, based on the brand you selected.Preview Report with Brand Style
Use this to preview how the report will look with your brand’s styling.
This is helpful if you want to check or update the branding before sharing the report.
Step 8: Use the Live Preview Editor
The Live Preview Editor lets you see your changes in real time, giving you a clear visual of how your final report will look.
In this section, you can also edit or hide specific parts of the report using the icons shown next to each line keeping your reports clean, relevant, and tailored to your audience:
✏️ Edit (Pencil Icon)
Click the pencil icon to rename a field.
For example, change “Response Date” to “Reference Completed On”.Use the arrow icon to return to previous step if needed.
⚠️ These change apply to all reports using this template.
👁️ Hide (Eye Icon)
Click the eye icon to hide entire sections (like Referee Details) or individual fields (like Signature). When you select the hide icon, the field or section will appear greyed out to show it has been hidden.
You can also hide parts of background checks and only show key details like:Check Status

Step 9: Review and Finalise Your Template
Take a moment to review your entire template.
Check that all branding, fields, and sections are set up the way you want.
Once you're happy with everything, click Create Template to save it.
Your custom report template is now ready to use!
